This Curbside Management System will enable infrastructure owners and operators to prioritize access and better regulate its curb space.

 

On February 14, 2023, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued U.S. Patent No. 11,580,521 to its three inventors, Mr. Michael Sawyer from Chester, VA(US), Mr. Lawrence Marcus from Falls Church, VA(US), and Mr. Matthew Roe from Brooklyn, NY(US).

 

The patented invention is forward thinking and will assist municipalities with the current and future demands placed upon their curbside space. The invention combines personalized customer service, navigation systems, asset management systems, and payment systems with curbside management to allow the street owner to regain control of their curbs:

• Owners can prioritize access, safety measures, modal preference, and operations.

• Owners apply curbside reservation tools for pre-trip planning and real time management / reporting, including such essentials as emergency response.

• Customers select destinations by location and price reflective of the street owner’s policies, with a seamless payment.

• Fleet owners have the ability to consolidate into a single system approach - a managed curb means that the likelihood of reserving a requested space is greater.
