Implement the Modal Priorities of the Street When Allocating the Curb Space Realm
Why? Progressive cities prioritize the street's right-of-way based on Street Type and modal priority (when designated). When right-of-way is limited, it is critical that a city prioritizes adequate sidewalk space, on-street parking, commercial loading, on-street bicycle / micromobility facilities, and transit priority lanes based on the street’s function and purpose in the community.

Apply Curbside Management Analysis and Prioritization Methods into Project Planning and Re-evaluation of Existing Conditions
Why? This analysis implements the vision in the comprehensive plan and applies the new performance measures to assess the success of existing and future conditions. Chapter 4 details the process for this evaluation.

Convey the Planning for Curb Space Use into the Land Development Site Plan Review Process.
Why? Proactively prioritizing and optimizing the curb space use during the site plan process (1) ensures right-of-way for transportation network priorities such as curb running transit priority lanes and bike lanes; (2) minimizes spillover of curbside demand from the site to surrounding streets; and (3) ensures comprehensive planning and community priorities are addressed prior to the issuance of an occupancy permit.
